This is a question about frames rather than lenses, so I hope it's OT.
I'm having trouble adjusting to a new pair of glasses because they sit
too high up my face so the bottom of my field of vision is too
restricted. The standard 18mm bridge is a little too narrow for my nose
really, but another factor is that the nose pads are positioned low
relative to the lenses. I asked my optician if that could be changed by
repositioning the curve in the nose-piece stalks (ie like changing an
inverted U into an inverted J). I'm not sure if she understood, because
first she tried to widen the angle of the existing curve. Then I drew a
diagram and she still seemed a bit vague about what I wanted, but she
just said it would be impossible.
Does that sound reasonable? I would have thought this could be done
without stressing the metal so much it would break, but I'm not 100%
sure, and I don't think I've got adequate tools to do a good job of it
myself if it is possible. Have any opticians/technicians here ever
performed that sort of adjustment?
