These are the newest multifocals from Cibavision. Apparently they have been
available in Europe for a while (I don't know about Asia or Africa), and are
just starting to become available, or will be soon, in the US market. (They
are listed now on the Cibavision US web site, and are listed on US online
retailer sites, although some say "out of stock", so I'm not sure if they
are actually available yet here, or will be soon. (They may be available in
doctor's offices now, at least trials, without being available for purchase
online. Don't know.)
I would like to know--has anyone reading this worn them, or prescribed them?
If so, please give your review.
How do they compare with other silicon hydrogel multifocals?
One thing different--they are available with three different levels of Add
(low, med, high), whereas Purevision Multifocals only have two (low and
high).
I am highly myopic and presbyopic (57 years old), and am currently wearing
monovision contacts. I don't like monovision though--the vast difference
between the two eyes, etc. I like the idea of multifocals more--both eyes
able to see near and far.
However, when I tried Purevision multifocals, they did not work for me. I am
wondering, however, if the AOMFs might? Are the designs different
enough--that if the PVs didn't work for me, the AOs might? Or is it a
similar design, just different material and company?
How do the three levels of Add in the AOMFs compare with the two levels of
the PVMFs? Are the high and low levels similar, with AO also having a
medium level in between? Or is the medium in the AO more like the high in
PV, with the AO high still higher?
Once again--I would especially like to hear from anyone who has tried the
Air Optix Aqua Multifocal lenses, either as a wearer or prescriber. How well
have they worked for you or your patients? How do they compare with other
silicon hydrogel multifocal options?
Thank you for your input.
