Will "anti-glare" add-on fix those glossy screen reflections...?

I have regular reading glasses that are a few years old. They have no
tinting or anything other than the anti-scratch coating.

I use laptops quite often and some of them have some pretty bad
reflections. The ones with matte finish are fine but some of
"glossy" type screens can cause some rather nasty and distracting
reflections.

If I get another pair of glasses will the anti-glare option they offer
as an add on take care of this issue?

Thank You

Anti-glare filters for computer screens used to be quite popular. I
always thought they looked clumsy and ugly, but sometimes you can't
choose your light situation in an office where you spend 8 hours a day
in front of that screen. Note also that some computers and monitors
come with anti-glare already, so I don't know how much an add-on would
help. Here's an example of some:

I've seen those screens too. Dreadful reflections. Pretty and shiny
but it doesn't help the view.
I agree with Dan, a filter over the screen is probably what you want.
Actually, the best would be a hood over the screen that blocks light
from the side, such as older graphics monitors used to have, but with
a laptop that's probably not practical.

cheers,

The anti glare stops glare from the object to which it is applied, ie
it stops glare from reflecting of the front the glasses into other
people's eyes and from the back of the glasses into your eyes.

A coating on glasses will not stop glare from a computer screen. To
stop glare from the screen, buy a laptop with a non glare screen.
