I have recently tried Hydron ActiToric contact lenses, because i have
-1.5cyl x 180 and they are the only ones that i've found with this cyl
value.. All other brands have -1.25 or -1.75 but not -1.5.

Since there were no -1.5 torics i was wearing -1.75 Focus Toric
Monthly until now..

So when i found these at -1.5 I must say that when properly rotated
the vision is perfect.. just like with my glasses which are -1.5cyl
x180 as my measured values.
But the problem is that they seem not weighed enough and they don't
stay properly rotated.. it's a shame because they would be exactly as
my perscription..

So i was wondering has anyone else tried Hydron ActiToric.. any
experience..

So for now it's back to CibaVision's Focus Torics..

Unless has anyone seen any brand that offes -1.5 cyl torics ??? That
wouold be great to hear..

Thanks !!!

There is no need to be so exact about the amount of astigmatism in your
contact prescription. First of all, if another doctor measured your
prescription they might find it to be -1.25 or -1.75. There is easily that
much variability in the measuring system. Also, there is variability in
your actual prescription on a day-to-day basis (based upon hydration, etc.).

I would suggest trying a disposable contact lens brand with -1.25 cylinder
power. There are many good inexpensive brands. Consider SofLens66,
Biomedics, or Vertex Torics. Having the astigmatism slightly undercorrected
tends to make a person more tolerant of having the lenses rotate slightly.
There will ALWAYS be some rotation with toric lenses, but the goal is to
make is minimal.

Good luck

This is history already Mike.

Cooper Vision owns Ocular Science nowadays.

BTW, indeed the Biomedic torics stabilization is great.

How come 150 or 030 axis would work ?
I have never really understood the axis part of toric lenses.. i read
a lot on the net but never got a visual enough explanation of what it
represents.. I still can't imagine it.. Can anyone here explain it
plain and simple.. or any good link to any article about it.. I have
read a lot of articles on astigmatism.. but no indepth ones..

Thanks!

Ahaaa.. now I get it... thanks!
150 0r 030 could work if it would STAY at the 'incorect' position and
then matching 180 value
I must test the 180 ones that I have and check the markings every once
in a while to see if it allways rotates in the same direction and the
same amount..
