Or will the alcohol damage the lenses?

should be OK. of more concern is the type of cloth you use with the
windex. avoid paper towels or tissue paper. use a synthetic fabric
cloth or a very soft cotton. make sure the cloth and lenses are damp
and not dry. rubbing a dry cloth on lenses can scratch them.

Windex is fine, metho is fine, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES use
acetone.

Try investing in a microfibre lens cloth. This is the easiest and best
way to clean any lens.
