Hello,

I just started wearing annual replacement soft lenses (I believe they
are manufactured by Optech).

Since these lenses were expensive and need to last a year, I want to
use the best system to get the most life out of them as possible, which
is why I'm taking the extra time to research cleaning systems.

I was given Opti-Free Express to start out with. However, I've been
reading this group to see if that is the best system to use. After
reading through the posts, it appears that Miraflow plus hydrogen
peroxide (AOSept/ClearCare) does the job the best (according to several
posts by Larry Bickford and others).

This leaves me with a few questions:

1) Since I already started using Opti-Free express, should I bother
making the swith to AOSept? Will the OptiFree (plus using Supraclens
enzymatic cleaner) do a good enough job to get the lenses to last about
a year?

2) If you feel its worth making the switch to ClearCare, how should I
make the switch? I read that I shouldn't mix disinfectant systems...
but as I said, I (hopefully) won't be getting new lenses for a year so
I'd need to know the best way to switch systems.

3) If I don't switch to ClearCare, is it safe to clean with MiraFlow
(and rinse off) before disinfecting with Opti-Free? This would be a
compromise between getting the cleaning power of MiraFlow while not
having to switch disinfectants.

I also bought Clerz Plus drops. Any comments on compatibility with
ClearCare? The website says Clerz drops are compatible with "any"
cleaning system...

Thanks for any help!

You should ask your fitter these questions. The fitting fee you paid
covers advice on lens cleaning and what is compatible with your lenses. If
you change systems without checking in with your fitter and you have
problems, your fitter will be able to blame you for the problems since you
did not comply with his/her advice. If you are new to contacts or new to
this type of constact, you should have some follow up visits included in the
fitting. Ask your questions then.
