I've been wearing gas permeable contacts for the last number years and
I'm thinking of changing my contacts soon. One of my eyes is a little
lazy, but my wife says that this is only noticeable when I am tired. I
was told before by an optician that gas permeable contacts were good
for such a condition. I also wear my contacts all day long as I don't
have glasses. I realize this isn't good but I guess I can be a bit
stubborn, or lazy even, at times...
I often have trouble where I get dust in my eye and I have to take out
my contact and clean it before butting it back in again. Some times
this isn't possible - when traveling to work in the morning for
example - often as a result of wind blowing up some dust. Then I have
to grin and bear it until I can take it out later on. Is this more
typical of gas permeables? One other thing, I have always used a
plunger to take the contacts out. I'd be lost without it as my eyes
are deep-set. The good thing is that i have never lost a contact.
Anyway, I was wondering if you could recommend me some contacts that
would be suitable for me - soft, hard, whatever. Also, when getting my
eyes tested and and being fitted etc., do I need to keep my gas
permeables out of my eyes for 24 hours before hand? I think I remember
doing that before, but I can't be sure.
