Hi all,

I used to wear contact lenses for the past 20 years. Always worn soft
and supposedly "high water content" lenses, never for more than 16
hours (worst case).

I was diagnosed with iritis about a year ago, got it treated within 3
days with steriod drops (Pred Forte). Then it came back about 3
months ago, this time it took about a week of Pred Forte and then a
week of PF with Cyclogel to get it treated and back to normal.

I didn't wear contacts at all between the two cases of Iritis EXCEPT
the one time a couple of days before the 2nd occurence. I really
think that me wearing those contacts triggered the iritis. According
to my opthamologist it was completely unrelated.

I was contemplating getting lasik OR going back to contacts.

Has anyone with iritis gotten lasik done and had problems ? I read
somewhere that the lasik would stress your eye out and cause the
iritis to return more frequently.

Thanks,

Kevin

Unless the contacts triggered a bad corneal abrasion, I cannot think
of a relationship. Most cases of iritis are either (1) idiopathic, or
(2) related to an underlying systemic auto-immune disorder.

Can you please source your information?

Oh No, don't do it. Have mercy on your eyes.
