What is a good type of contacts for dry eyes?

I used to wear the 1-Day Acuvue lenses. But by afternoon/evening my
eyes would always feel dry. So then they came out with the 1-Day
Acuvue Moist lenses, which is supposed to keep your eyes wet all day.
But I haven't really noticed a difference.

Is there another brand of lenses that does a better job of keeping
your eyes wet all day?

I suffer from dry eyes as well. I am wearing Purevision in one
eye and Purevision Toric in the other and they both give
excellent vision. My eyes are more comfortable with Purevision
contacts, especially working on a computer than without. I have
worn them for up to 24 hours with no problems. Although, your
mileage may vary.

Amazing. The Purevision that you recommend, as well as the Oasys,
Proclear, and Focus Night and Day that the other guy recommends, are
not available in my 9.0 base curve. I thought all contacts would be
available in all sizes. But I guess not. I might have to stick with
these Acuvue 1-Day contacts, if they are the only ones in my size.

I have very dry eyes and have had difficulty keeping contact lenses in
my eyes more than 4 hours. My eye doctor gave me Acuvue Oasys to try.
They were more comfy than my previous Acuvue 2's, but felt "tight"
after a while. Now I'm trying Oasys in the new 8.8 base curve. Today
was my fist day, and they seem to fit better. I haven't tried wearing
them over 6 hours yet. If these don't work out, my doc will let me try
either Proclear or similar (but cheaper) Biomedics XC.lenses.

My corneal "K" reading is 39. Several years ago, my previous eye
doctor prescribed the original Acuvue lenses in a 9.3 base curve.
Then when I started wearing Acuvue 2's, he gave me 8,7 base curve.
I'm seeing a new eye doc now, and he gave me Acuvue Oasys in 8.4 BC,
but they felt tight and somewhat stuck in place. Now he has me in the
new 8.8 BC, which seem more comfy. My eye doc said that with the newer
silicone lenses, the base curve isn't as critical and he "prefers" a
tighter fit.

In the past, my only problem with a flatter lens was that, when they'd
get dry, they'd literally peel off my eyes during hard blinking, which
I guess would be better than sticking to my corneas!

Base curve is not a precision fit with soft lenses.

Oasys now comes in 8.8, which is close enough to 9.0 to probably not
make a difference. If the lens moves when you blink, it's not too
tight. Your OD can make sure.
