I have an unusual eye problem

I was hoping that someone who reads this group has a suggestion as to
what it is. I see double in each of my eyes individually, but not w/
shadows. Each eye sees several solid objects and from seeing this way
for a long time, I can differetiate where an object is. My
opthamologist says it's not monocular diplopia. I went to a neuro-
opthamologist, but he didn't see anything wrong with my eyes (except
mentioning that my eyes don't meet up, which noone has ever said in my
24 years of having contact lenses). Now I'm grasping at straws and I
think I'm going to see an optomotrist who practices alternative eye
treatments. Could it be my medicines making this worse? Any help is
appreciated. TIA!

your ophthalmologist tells you it is monocular diplopia, but this is a
description of what you see, not a diagnosis really.
has your ophthalmologist offered up any ideas as to the cause of
this?

well, i think by definition it is monocular diplopia.

if is quite common for people to have some degree of ocular
misalignment. but if you see multiple images with each eye
independently (i.e. monocularly) then thats irrelevant to figuring our
your problem.

IMHO you are wasting your time and money if you do this

don't know about your medicines. what are they? what sort of medical
conditions do you have?

some of the things I can think of to be considered include:

astigmatism
irregular corneal topography
irregular lens anatomy
a secondary pupil (light coming through your iris in an additional
location to the pupil)
retinal puckering
