Hi,

What actually is the source of the "starbursting" and "halo" visual effects
often encountered after LASIK surgery ? The damage done by the laser ?
Increased eye pressure ? And will they eventually go away ?

When the diameter of the pupil exceeds the diameter of the ablated
area, halos and starbursts can occur. The severity is most likely a
function of the pre-operative prescription, i.e. higher prescription
has greater potential for night vision disturbances.

Isn't large pupil diameter another predisposing factor for halos?
