Lens falls out after cataract surgery?

Today someone I know had cataract surgery. When her eye was being
cleaned the cleaner said something looking like a contact lens came
out of her eye. They called the doctor's office and they said it's
okay. This patient is going back to the doctor's tomorrow. Is this
something that can be dangerous? Will the patient be okay? I
certainly hope so.
