I have worn contact lenses (RGP and soft) in the past but have been in
glasses for 15 months with this prescription. My eyes feel great and
the vision is clear:
R -8.25, -1.00 cyl, 003 axis, 1.5 base curve
L -8.00, -1.00, 175, 1.5

I am in the midst of getting fitted for soft lenses. I first tried BL
Soflens 66 torics:
-7.00, -.75, 020, 8.5
-7.00, -.75, 170, 8.5

My vision seemed magnified and too strong plus that brand of lens was
uncomfortable in the left eye, so we tried the Accuvue without the
astigmatism correction. These offer greater comfort:
-6.75 both eyes (that's all the lens info I have for now).

While the distance vision is fine, I still feel like the close up
(computer/reading distance) is magnified and I am nauseous after an
hour. I experience the same effect when the base curve of my glasses is
greater than 1.5. However, what could be causing this when I wear the
contact lenses?

Thanks, Dill

Dil,. if you wear stronger minus glasses for the far distance you also have
a benefit when you are reading.
That's to say, you have to accomodate lesser with glasses then you need to
when you are wearing contactlenses.(accomodation effect)
When you are about the age off 40 or higher you should recognise this
phenonamen better.
Mike Tyner already mentioned the "converge" isue and both issue's together
might give you some problems when you are over 40 years of age.
