The FDA studies on the original Autonomous Laser with LADAR tracking were
brand new about five years ago. The maximum achievable successfully on that
instrument was +6.00 sph with -6.00 astig. My own Rx was +2.50 -3.00 back
then and I had to wait for this new technology to be approved before I had
my own eyes LASIK'd. Corneal shape and thickness will play a role in
obtaining the maximum Rx. Also, the Intralase laser can create the thinnest
possible flap to coax more prescription out of the cornea. Find the most
experienced doctor you can find.
