Question About Contacts life

I have Acuvue Advanced lenses and was wondering how long I can keep
them in a case for. I know that they should be worn for only 14 days
but does that mean that I can spread these 14 days across a longer
period. For instance if I only wore them on weekends could I still use
the same pair for 7 weeks, Saturday and Sunday, and then just keep them
in a case until I wear them again the next weekend.

Also from past information from this board I was told that if I dont go
to sleep at night that if I take the contacts out for an hour or so and
put them back in my eyes will feel better than if I just keep them in
constantly. I have tried this and it has proven to be true. But would
me just switching to another pair of lenses work too. This would also
go back to my previous question where maybe I can have a second pair of
lenses and alternate every day with them so I always have a fresh pair
but I change the lenses now every 28 days instead of 14 cause I only
wear each pair of lenses every other day.

If you end up wearing the lenses for the same total number of hours over
the 28 day period you don't really gain any advantage with your proposed
system.

If you only want to wear lenses for 2 days a week then you're probably
better off with daily disposables - assuming you aren't sleeping in them
on the Saturday night.

The worry with leaving lenses in the case is that the disinfecting
solution tends to go a little 'stale'. This is why I always suggest that
my 1-2day/week patients wear daily disposables, as they get plenty of
oxygen on the other 5-6 days.

I was just using the twice a week as an example. I wear my contacts
every day. But if I did wear them just twice a week would my proposed
plan work. Thanks.
