Some LASIK Eye Mills are telling me I am contraindicated.

While some are saying I am not contraindicated.

Anyone know the number for the FDA LASIK medical
monitors in Washington state?

I want to know if I can eventually have the surgery or not.

Best,

D.H.

Dear David,

I hate to be a "wet blanket" on your hopes, but
if the Lasik Eye Mills are telling you this -- believe them!

They have a very strong desire to DO LASIK. You could
get a "second opinion" and perhaps have it done.

But you might regret the consequences.

No one can give you advice -- and you should do
more research and find out why Lasik
is cdontra-indicated.

You could post the reasons on this site and
the ODs and MDs will discuss them with you.
They are quite good in their profession.

Best,

Is your Raynaud's primary, or secondary to Lupus? As a rule, any
autoimmune dysfunction is a contraindication for elective surgery. It
is not so much what the surgery itself will do, but how the body will
respond to the trauma of surgery. As an example, stress will
exacerbate Raynauds.

I'm sure you can find a surgeon who will perform LASIK on you, but do
you really want to risk your vision for the convenience of a reduced
need for corrective lenses? It seems the risk outweighs the potential
benefit.

No no lupus.
Just Raynaud's most probably caused by frostbite injury.
Thank you greatly,

D.H.

The reasons about Raynaud's ( I think I have frostbite injury actually)
and LASIK has to do with corneal healing and intraocular pressure.

Can I still discuss this thread with the group?

Thanks,

D.H.
