Eye exercises for vision improvement are a fraud.
For a good explanation why they do not work, see:

Well, it doesnt hurt to try right, and it's free. Beats getting a
laser shot to your cornea for sure

thanks

Well, actually, it doesn't, since the eye exercises don't work.

But you go right ahead and try if you like.

I repeat...Check out the free eye exercise program from American
Vision Institute at www.visiontherapy.net. Read the research, click
RESEARCH on the index bar. If you're not willing to do this, shut up
and stop wasting everybody's time.

Discussion - Treatment of Imperfect Sight [conversation has been cut
for relevancy].

A: 'See Clearly Method'

<2> What did you try at first, [1]?
<1> I got the See Clearly Method's book
<2> Yeah. Did you ever have any improvement, or did it not work, or
what?
<1> I didn't get anything out of it
<2> I know they had a lawsuit. Were any of the stuff even directly
related to Bates?
<1> It was the eye exercise kind of thing, clock rotations, pumping,
etc.
<2> Yeah. One thing I don't understand: what is pumping?
<3> clock rotations and pumping can be harmful i think
<2> [3], I think so too - can pull a muscle or something like that
<1> I don't know about the rest of their stuff besides the book. The
book was pretty off, though. Like imagine someone picking up a spoon,
who hasn't seen a spoon before, and says it's for applying makeup to
the nose. That's what it was like.
<3> yeah. and plus can just encourage them to keep up the bad habits
that they already have ^
<2> I see. No mental emphasis in the book?
<2> Like to visualize anything?
<1 I remember the phrase "visualize positive changes taking place in
the eye"
<1> It was just kind of all over the place.
<2> That's different from what Bates teaches
<3> very different
<2> The imagination is required to make a tremendous leap in vision
improvement in a short time, it seems

B: 'Plus Lens Treatment'

* [4] has joined #med/vision
<4> hey
<1> howdy
<1> Interesting, I wonder if [10] will show up. I see him online now.
<4> yes
<4> [1], what's the deal with [10]?
<4> I looked around, everyone is ridiculing him
<4> I don't understand
<1> I had asked him a couple weeks ago to stop promoting all his plus
lens stuff, so he's been away from the clan.
<4> do you think plus prevention offers any success?
<1> Some limited benefit, but mostly it just confuses people.
<4> he claims it works as a preventative method, I don't understand
why he would promote something that doesn't work
<4> he isn't paid or anything
<4> but he seems to be very confident that it works, and he doesn't
seem like a dumb guy
<4> what are the disadvantages?
<4> It's not that I support it, but I'm just interested why he is
promoting it so much
<4> he goes through a lot of trouble
<1> It's a pretty long explanation to get into. Basically he just
makes it harder for me to communicate method [a1]to people, when
method [a1] is already counter-intuitive.
<4> that's true, the directions are different
<4> [a1] would argue the plus lens would bring back strain by
introducing blur
<1> And I don't think his methods are as effective as [a1], and [10]
says there's no hope for anyone with long-standing myopia or anyone
with more than mild myopia, so that's another problem he creates.
<4> yes I found that a bit contradictory to the nature of this clan
<1> And he goes into wearing plus lenses being the complete solution,
and people get the idea they're practicing [a1] by virtue of not
wearing glasses or by virtue of wearing plus lenses.
<1> And to boot, he's got a horrible style of communicating - he never
directly answers any question, but changes the subject to what he
wants to talk about. Every time. That's what ticks people off most of
the time.
<5> I almost wonder if he is a bot
* [6] has joined #med/vision
<1> Ha, he does give that repetitious impression
<1> Hi [6]
<4> I can see that his idea comes from, I see how it may work, and I
bet it does work. The other day I curiously put on my dad's +1.25 for
one minute and my eyesight went from 86->104 (relative figures), but I
don't think that's in accord with [a1]'s teachings. You can easily
develop another eye condition with strain, and it will never
completely reverse myopia, just offset it a bit
<6> Hello to everyone
<4> but whatever. [5] is right, he seems to be posting similar
messages on all groups
<4> I don't think he is a bot, just copy/pasting
<1> Well the way I see it (and this is just a theory), plus lenses
work by confusing the visual system. The system has determined, for
whatever personal reason, that it wants a certain amount of blur. But
then when plus lenses aren't worn anymore, the previous condition
slowly returns to get the blur back again.
<4> it's bad, very biased, not very precise. You can't guage
improvement very accurately
<4> yes [1], that was my opinion too
<1> That would explain why, as [10] says, plus lenses have to keep
being worn to keep "moving" the state of the eye away from myopia.

We've noticed that. Please stop.

Good advice. I suggest you take it.

Note that none of the things this is supposed to help with are normally
treated with a laser shot to your cornea. They all involve things
inside the eye.

I did.

But I'm still left with the nagging questions about your tax evasion
schemes, and whether your past behavior is indicative of future
performance.

Also, did you learn your etiquette from Otis Brown?
