Hello all,
I occasionally (but would need to do it more often) do light therapy,
usually 30 min just after waking up
using an Elta lamp (google for elta lamp light therapy).
After 30 minutes I stop light therapy and walk around the house. I see
very dark (both eyes) because the eyes are used to the light, and I also
see a red region at the bottommost part of vision field from the right
eye. ONLY the right eye. In a couple of minutes the eyes return to
normal and the reddish halo disappears too.
The fact the reddish halo happens only on one side of one eye bothers
me. What/why is that? Should I rush to be be inspected or I can take it
more easily?
That eye seems to see well during normal days/normal things. I have no
other symptoms.
I know that my eye pressure is very good.
A few years ago they told me that the edge of the retina in one eye was
weak (don't remember which eye) and I should be checked again every 3
years. I am a bit late on that one, I think 4 have passed.
Thanks for your comments.
PS: A few more details:
I keep the lamp very near to the eyes, nearer than recommended in the
instructions. The amount of light is still bearable, and the therapy
works in this way, while unfortunately it doesn't work if I keep it more
distant.
I assume the lamp is UV shielded since it is for light therapy. I also
wear UV shielded clear sight glasses while doing it, but they don't
cover the bottommost part of the eye where the halo appears. However,
they don't cover that bottommost part on BOTH eyes...
