Strange vision problems -- need HELP!! please advise!

Once in a while I am having really strange vision interruptions.
It always starts in the middle of my eye sight as a small field or a
glowing object that looks like an polished metal with angular lines.
Then it grows and in the shape of crescent expands from the center to
the outher edges of my vision - either left or right.
It always happens with ONE eye, but never with the same one.

This "effect" lasts for about 15-20 minutes and goes away, but when it
happens I am loosing my vision to the extend that I can't walk or drive
my car. The frequency is ... every 2-3 months.

Could you maybe tell me what the hell is happening??

What should I do?!
