Hi,
Does anyone here have information on the degree of corneal damage which
occurs with the 5 year use of Tamocifen (to prevent re-occurance of
breast cancer)?
I am interested because I need to make some decisions related to this
therapy and I already have a genetic condition - Reis-Bucklers Corneal
Dystrophy which causes scars. I have already probably had as much of the
scars lasered off as possible.
Thanks
Greta

Hi,
Sorry, I spelled it incorrectly in the body of my text - Tamoxifen is
the correct spelling.

Hi Greta,

My wife is taking Tamoxifen. She had a mastectomy and chemotherapy
three months ago. Tamoxifen sits on the attachment sites for
estrogen on breast tissue. With the Tamoxifen on the attachment sites
estrogen can't get in. It works for estrogen-responsive cancers only.
I've read that soy does the same thing, blocking the estrogen
receptors on breast tissue. If you don't want Tamoxifen then look
into soy. The Tamoxifen seems to be causing side-effects in my wife.
She has started hot flashes alternated with cold shivers. The drug
can speed up the development of menopause.
