Vision change after Lasik

5 years ago (I'm 30 now) I had Lasik sugery. I thought it was the best
thing in life afterwards. Before my sugery my left eye was -10.5 and
my right eye was -12.75. Trying to do anything without contacts in
was impossible. (heck trying to even put my contacts in was a
challange every day).

After my sugery I was 20/15 for about 6 months, then went to 20/20. A
year or so later I was 20/30 in both eyes. Now its been 5 years. I
had noticed I was straining a lot to see things so I went back to the
doctor. Well my perscription is Left eye -.75 right eye -1.00. I'm
told this isn't really that bad and from where I was it isn't really.
He perscribed me some glasses. I couldn't belive how crisp things
were. My Doc said I shouldn't have to really wear them all the time,
but now that I have them and started to wear them I can't see not,
meaning things seem so blury without the glasses.

Is this my mind playing tricks on me? Or is the -.75 and -1.00 really
not that bad?

I have a app in a couple days to get fitted for contacts (not a
glasses fan at all).

I'd just like to hear others opinions. Am I going crazy?

Shane

Deaar Shane,

No, you are not going crazy.

The eye adapts itself (or changes its refractive status
if placed in a "confined" visual environment.

[The ODs will explode because I state this basic
truth about the behavior of the natural eye.]

So if you had Lasik, and went back to your "close work",
then it is reasonable that your eyes will again
"adjust" in a negative direction.

To describe this effect you might enjoy reading
my FREE site describing this proven behavior of
that natural eye.

www.myopiafree.com

The ODs will now explain that a minus lens
has no effect on the refractive state of the natural eye.

Best,

It is not that you are going crazy, it is that you are crazy since a
lot of time.

But, some glimpses of intelligence are still there, if you see that
your mind is playing mental tricks to you poor sick boy.

What is really dreadful is that doctors are happy with this kind of
shameful result!

I have one client who is recovering from -14 dioptres of myopia, and
has removed the glasses.

It is very easy to remove such big amounts of myopia by means of rest
methods according to Dr. Bates.

To go from -14 to -3 is a matter of minutes.

It is much more tiresome to remove the last two or three dioptres, and
go on with the treatment to 20/10.

This is how the mind works after years of contact lenses, the most
malicious thing ever invented by man.

Shane - Not quite sure what your question is...-0.75 and -1.00 is not as bad
as -10.50, but it's still a little myopic... the glasses (and contacts)
would certainly make things clearer. You should be able to see close up
(reading) without these glasses, but they would really help for long
distance vision. If this is the case, that's normal, not "crazy"!

I don't think you're crazy. I've had docs (actually only one doc - my
surgeon) tell me that I was being too picky about my 20/25 vision in
the right eye. I might be okay with it if it weren't abundantly clear
what I was missing out on with that eye, as my other one is 20/15.
There's nothing wrong with wanting crisp vision and I don't see
anything wrong with getting contact lenses to give you your best
corrected visual acuity.
