ABO/NCLE - Important for Optometry School(?) - and more

Discussion in 'Optometry Archives' started by Student - NAU, Sep 13, 2004.

  1. Hello,
I'm a pre-optometry student at NAU and I was wondering if taking
the ABO/NCLE was important or highly beneficial for applying to
Optometry School and if it is, are their any suggestions for
    prep-books?

Also, what's the best way to approach in Optometrist about getting
hours of observation? Should I e-mail, call up or come in person?

    Thanks,

I don't think it's important to take the abo/ncle although it
    couldn't hurt I guess.

Personally, I'd be much more responsive if a student called to
request a brief meeting to talk about optometry and about shadowing
rather than an e-mail out of the blue.

Best of luck, by the way. Good field to get into.
