Acuvue Advance is advancing

I was just asked today by my fitter to participate in a pre-market
trial of the upcoming Acuvue Advance silicone hydrogel. I declined,
after learning a bit more about the lenses. I was told that they
would be similar in design/parameters to the Acuvue 2, which is one
reason I was not interested (I did not find the Acuvue 2 to be
comfortable to wear, although I understand this is not a common
experience with this lens). The other reason is that I was told that
the Advance is to be a daily-wear lens, and as such the Focus Night &
Day has much more appeal to me.

If anybody else has any information they have heard on this lens, I
would be very interested to hear it. I did get the impression that
Acuvue has other lenses in the works for extended wear.

Anyway, the trial is supposed to be completed sometime in December, so
I assume that the Advance can't be far from entering the marketplace.
