Today I got my prescription glasses for astigmatism (-0.75 in righ
    eye, -1.50 in left)

I was told to wear them while watching TV and using the computer (i.e
    all the time for me)

However, I am wearing them and looking at my SQUARE shaped compute
screen right now and I see a trapezium shaped monitor kinda like thi
    : http://www.geocities.com/alclarke0/PolyPages/Pictures/trapezium.gi

The trapezium I see is not quite that narrow on top or as wide at th
bottom but it is CLEARLY there.

Also, if I look down at the keyboard it looks as if the table i
heavily slanted towards me. It really is just straight. No slant o
    any kind.

Finally, everything is a bit hazy which I was told to expect

My dad says he had this problem when he got his astigmatism glasse
too and he just returned them and got simple reading glasses. Bu
    since I have astigmatism and I use a computer shouldn't I us
"Astigmatism glasses for using a computer" which is wha
    they apparently made for me?

I am real confused. Please help

For starters, you don't need to repost 4 times to get a reply.

You have aniseikonia. It is normal and you should have been told to
expect this prior to getting your glasses. A few words in advance by
your OD and I don't have to waste my time in the morning - I should
    send him a bill LOL.

The best thing is to walk around and do stuff with your glasses on,
this will force your brain into adapting to your new visual world
faster. The floor will not look level and you will feel like you are
off balance, don't worry, this will go away. In a few hours or days,
everything will level out for you.

By the way, there should be no haziness with your glasses on unless
they are specifically for the computer.

    Best of luck.

I tried that for several days, it didnt help. The disortions make me
dizzy. Ditto to the aniseikonia between my right eye and left eye. My
pescription below corrects my vision but the quality and disortions
    arent good.

left eye: -4.5 sphere, -.75 cylindar(140 axis) correctable to 20/30
right eye: -3.5 sphere, -1.5 cylindar(55 axis) correctable to 20/40

Its found that a -5 pescription works great for the left eye and -4.5
works OK for the right eye. But its much more tolerable and I dont get
disortions and much better quality vision.

Ace the original poster was asking about his eyes, not yours. Try to
    stay on topic.

By telling him about my eyes, it will let him know hes not the only one
out there with the problem. Did you even read about the solutions? Did
you even read what I said to him? It sounds like he was doing happy
without glasses for many years and his use of glasses is optional. He
was told he can wear them for TV "if he wants to" his script is so mild
he never wore glasses much of his life.
