About a month ago I had caught a flu or something similar. After 3-4 days into the flu my eyes were watery and I started rubbing them. As soon as I stopped rubbing my eye I noticed a flash burn.. similar to looking at the sun and then having a burn image in the eye. I waited for this burn to go away but it never did. It has been a month now and the burn mark is still present. It is normally a grey color that blinds that area. The burn mark is triangular or 'bullet' shaped and it is at about the 7 o'clock position near the center of my vision. Sometimes, depending on the lighting, it will appear as a brighter burn mark and other times it is grey. I suppose the darkness or lighting affects this. The eye affected is my left eye. My eye also feels 'full' like there is something there or higher pressure or it feels hot. My vision is also distorted in that area. I am thinking it is some type of bacterial kerititis but I have never had this before and I don't know if it is just my cornea affected or an optic nerve. Do flu viruses cause eye problems like this? Thank you.
