Buying contacts over the internet

I'm a long term user of contact lenses. 24 years now. Mostly no
problems except they don't feel as comfotable as they used to. Working
outdoors I have small pinguecula in both eyes and some dryness
(Usually when I come indoors) I currently use Proclear biocompatibles
which have suited me for some years now.

Recently I thought I'd try some dailies and buy them off the net. Just
to see if there is something better out there that my optician hadn't
offered me. I plumped for 'Focus dailies' as they had a high water
content of 70% and apparently a very thin edge for extra comfort. I
popped them in tonight for an hour and they did indeed seem more
    comfortable.

When it came to taking them out I found the right one was no problem
but the left one didn't seem to want to move. After adding some drops
and persevering it did finally come out, but not after some eye
    irritation.

Why are these so much more difficult to come out than the Proclear? Is
it something I'll get used to or will it become more difficult when I
    wear them for longer periods?

I was careful to find a lens with the same base curve of 8.6 but the
diameter is 13.8 as compared to the Proclear which is 14.2. Would this
    make a difference?

Should I just not wear them until I've discussed it with my optician?
