Can computer use cause deterioration of vision

Hi

I have found that the vision in my right eye has deteriorated (acuity is now
6/18). My left eye seems to be OK (6/6). I have seen a couple of opticians
who both came to the conclusion that it is a lazy eye that has always been
like this. To me this makes no sense as I used to have 20/20 vision in both
eyes ( I was in the British army, we needed acuity of 20/20 in the right eye
to pass the medical).

Since leaving the army 5 years ago I have worked in IT and consequently
spend a fair amount of time in front of a computer. I was wondering if this
could have contributed to the deterioration of my vision and if so can
anything be done to improve the vision.
