Clear lens extraction after a previous retinal Detachment

Hello, I am in my 40's and have severe myopia (roughly -20). I had a
detached retina 20 years ago due a combination of my myopia and being a very
dedicated long distance runner (apparently the continuous pounding on the
road every day may have been the main cause). I had a buckle put in my eye
but this was removed a few years later and I have had no problems since. I
now wear contact lenses as normal. I have been looking into clear lens
extraction to correct my myopia as my sister who has a similar perscription
to me has had this and it has improved her previous vision with contacts,
but have noticed that one of the possible complications is retinal
detachment. Would anyone be able to tell me if my previous detachment means
I would be at more at risk from this after clear lens extraction? Also if I
did have another detachment would it be able to be treated again, providing
it was dealt with in time?

    Thanks
