I am 20/100 on vision and a friend of mine said that some contact
lenses exist that will permanently correct your vision to 20/20.

Supposedly you go to an eye doctor and with corneal mapping, he scans
your eye then issues you some contacts that you wear everyday. After
a certain time frame, maybe 6 months, your eyes are 20/20.

Does anyone have information about this? What is it called?

    thanks

It's called orthokeratology and your information is not quite right. It is
    not permanent.

There are two methods. In the older method, lenses were worn daily and
slowly changed eye shape. Retainer lenses needed to be worn for several
hours daily or every other day to maintain the change. If retainer lenses
were not worn, then in a few days the eyes go back to their original
    shape.

The newer method uses lenses worn overnight. Lenses are put on at bedtime,
worn all night and taken out in the morning. Vision is then good for the
day. Depending on the eye, lenses may need to be worn every night, every
other night or once or twice a week. If you stop wearing the lenses, then
the eyes go back to their original shape in a few days.

This method only works for lower amounts of myopia. It does not work for
hyperopia for high astigmatism. It does not work for eyes with poor vision
    due to disease.

Since you did not say what is causing your vision to be 20/100, I do not
know if this will work for you.
