I am seeking the most practical way of treating my crusty eyelids.

My optometrist told me to use a hottish compress on the eyelids > to
gently scrub the eyelids with cotton buds soaked in diluted baby
shampoo > then rinse the eyes with water.

I have found some very good sites on this subject, but I am hoping that
someone, from their experience, can give me a fairy simple but effective
    method to follow.

    Regards,

  3. Use hot (as hot as can COMFORTABLY be tolerated), moist compresses held
gently against the closed lids, turning the cloth as it cools down to
get all the heat out, then use the same cloth to gently rub back and
forth across the closed lids. Do this 1st thing in the morning, and
just before any shower. In the shower, gently use your fingers with
some baby shampoo to clens the closed lids. Pretty practical. If it
fails, consider some Rx medications (see your eye doc for a course of
    oral antibiotics and topical anti-inflammatories).

    William,

That sounds really good to me and thanks a lot. What you have said makes
good sense to me. It is very practical, which is just what I wanted. I
will definitely give it a go.

    Thanks again.

    Regards,
