Does anyone know what is happening to this guys eye?

    My buddy (eye below) has seen two optomitists. In both cases they said they hadn't a clue, asked could they take pictures to refer it elsewhere, and generally took the fact that my buddies sight isn't effected as a sign than no intervention is needed.

    I thought maybe we could crowdsource an answer. Does anyone have any idea what is going on with this eye?
