    Hi all,

I recently visited the eye doctor for the first time in six years. It was an optometrist that I had never been to before.

He told me that I have very small cataracts in both eyes, but cataracts nonetheless. The doctor seemed rather surprised, enough to lead me to believe I may be the youngest patient with cataracts that he's ever seen. I should have asked him that - maybe I will at next year's appointment.

Obviously I have a number of questions and concerns about this, but what I'd really like to know is: exactly how rare is it for someone at 32 years old to have cataracts?
