Eye glass frames

Discussion in 'Glasses' started by Repeating Rifle, Jan 7, 2004.

  1. I just got fitted with new glasses. The frames I had were perfectly
satisfactory and I wanted to get the same kind. Why get a new product of
unkown characteristics when you can get one you know and like. These frames
were first bought in 2001. I was told that they would be difficult if not
    impossible to get.

Is this a common state of affairs?

It is possible, since frames are considered a fashion item these days and
they change frequently. But it really depends on which exact frame you are
    talking about.

  3. The state of affairs is that you have been cheated the first time, when
you satisfied yourself with glasses, and now you are being cheated
second time, that you are not satisfied with the new glasses.

In both ways you have beeen cheated.

  4. Why don't you take a more elegant route and get cured without frames and
    without glasses?

On eBay you can find the two books that can teach you how to do that.

You will become independent of glasses and frames, no screws to be
fixed, but total freedom in the use of your eues, and mind.

    Think about it!

If frames were a good solution, I think God the Father would have
    created us all with frames.

    Don't you agree?

Otis, what is your comment on this?

  5. That sounds like a really good idea. Will the method work with my
    intraocular implants?

Depends on the frame and how long it had been on the market before you got
yours. Frames are fashion items; new stylesand colours are introduced and
old ones discontinued. Usually the less fashionable styles, like square
metal double bridge stay around longer. If the frame has been discontinued,
your only hope is that a retailer somewhere has one gathering dust and
unsold and that the distributor can locate it.

Yes, I think it's called "marketing". Try replacing your ten year old car
with the identical model. They'll laugh in your face.

One solution, if your car is basically OK but the engine is worn out, is
    to replace the engine.

If your old frames are OK, but you need new glasses because your
prescription changed, keep the frames and just get new lenses.

If you knew what the actual manufacturing cost of the frames really is, your
language would be a little stronger than stupid and pretentious.
