getting used to new glasses

  1. How long does it take to adjust to new glasses? I've had mine for over 2
months now and I'm still having problems. Feels as if I have to strain
the whole day to see clearly. According to my ophthalmologist I see
better with the new glasses (left 100%, right 80%) than with the old,
acc. to his records. Next week I'm seeing my optometrist, but I was
wondering whether you here have any ideas? Glass in the two pairs is the
same (Zeiss 1.9); frame model is about the same. I saw perfectly with my
    old glasses - if I hadn't lost them (don't ask;)) I wouldn't have gotten
    a new pair.

    Prescription:
    Old (May 2001)
    R sph -13,25 cyl 1,00 A 85
    L sph -11,00 cyl 1,25 A 110

    New (July 2003)
    R sph -13,00 cyl 0,75 A 82
    L sph -11,25 cyl 0,75 A 113

    Thanks for any ideas!

I'd get a careful verification check of the new glasses by your
    optician
to make sure they are made according to the rx. Sometimes a careful
adjustment (checking the vertex distance, pantoscopic angle) will be
the difference in high minus prescriptions. I'd doubt the actual rx
is the problem- the right eye was cut just a .25 diopter (unit).

I've seen high myopes patients having problems with exact duplicate
prescriptions with their glasses-doesn't take much in
    measurement,adjustment
    or alignment to cause problems.
