I have a prescription - do I really need it?

Have recently had my eyes tested and vari-focals have been recommended.
The results were dist -.075 (both eyes) inter +0.75 (both eyes) and near (+1.25)

I understand this means my vision is not perfect. I know that from experience. Readable letters are slightly blurry from 10-15 feet - but I can still read them. My distance is largely fine but there could be more definition picking up small objects 200 feet away (I know this from golf and seeing a golf ball).

However, individually I do not feel I need to take the step of wearing glasses to correct such minor issues. Am happy with "90 per cent vision" or whatever percentage is applicable - it does not affect me, present any sort of danger to others, or have any ramifications for me. I am aware my vision will naturally deteriorate with age and one day I will need to wear them - but I don't feel at the moment I need to go through the cost, hassle and inconvenience of having glasses?

    Professional thoughts?
