Intense Headaches & Neck Pain from Frames Due to Side Nose & Bridge Sensitivity

Discussion in 'Glasses' started by hellothere001, Mar 1, 2023.

  1. I’m having a major issue with my glasses. My current glasses give me intense headaches and neck pain. I don’t think that it’s the frames or the prescription strength because when I temporarily line the bridge (including the built in, side nose rests) with 2 layers of cotton squares, for padding, the headache and neck pain go away. I remove the cotton padding from the frames, wear the frames without it, and the headache and neck pain returns. I seem to have been properly measured for my frames because they fit fine. Also, I’ve had a couple of adjustments made on the frames, which haven’t helped.

I’ve also tried on about 10 different frames (without prescription lenses), via home try on, and they all produce the same result: headaches and neck pain. I’m beginning to think that I can’t have anything hard resting on the inner sides and/or bridge of my nose (i.e. where the nose pads would hit) due to usual sensitivity there. Is this a thing? I can’t find any info online. Whenever I do a search online for ‘headaches from glasses’, sources always say the same things: “Your prescription is wrong” or “You have the wrong fit on your glasses” or “Get your frames adjusted” or “It’s computer eye syndrome…take a break every 20 minutes”.

Any info or suggestions, on this issue, would be greatly appreciated.

Visit an optometrist. There is something wrong with your eyeglass. Check it once
