IOL., paralyzed pupil and eyewash kits

  1. Hi again to all. . .My tale of the botched cataract and the left-over
fragment is posted below. Well, I used dandruff shampoo tonight, nine
weeks since surgery, and got a little in the implant eye. I nearly went
through the ceiling with the pain and couldn't see at all for a few
minutes. I'm sure the paralyzed pupil doesn't help the eye protect
itself . . .quite the opposite, in fact. My question is: is a
first-aid eyewash kit suitable for a person with IOL and aniscoria? I
clearly need to keep one around the house if it is. I can't go through
    THAT again. Melinda

  2. Forget both the dandruff shampoo and the eyewash idea. Shampoo with
baby shampoo and don't put anything in your eye that wasn't prescribed
for you, except maybe a drop or 2 of fresh (check the expiration date)
nonpreserved artificial tears, no more than once an hour or so. Stay
away from mascara and no creams, lotions or other makeup anywhere near
    your lashes. Hang in there.

  3. Thanks for the help. I've never been a big makeup wearer, so that's not
a problem. Will switch to baby shampoo as per your advice. M
