Lens material choice for safety glasses?

Discussion in 'Glasses' started by Kay Lancaster, Nov 22, 2004.

  1. I've got an eye exam coming up, which I expect to show nothing more than
the stable and mild myopia I've had since I was young. My prescription
runs about OD-1.0/OS-1.25 and has, with minor variants, stayed the same
    for 35 years.

I'd like to replace my present safety glasses because they've always felt
a little "swimmy" in peripheral vision -- more distortion than I'd like
to have. I'd appreciate suggestions for "better" safety lenses -- these
are probably rock bottom grade. I know I'm kind of picky about visual
quality -- it was only a few years ago that an optician was able to convince
me to switch from glass to a high quality coated plastic lens for regular
    wear.

Most of what I use safety glasses for are stained glass work, building,
cutting wood, and air tool use.

I'd be grateful for your suggestions for lens material.

    Thanks!

    Kay
