Lenses + glasses at same time ?

  1. I have found out, that if I use my prescription sunglasses
(Serengeti Drivers, 12 years old) on while wearing lenses, I
still get a way better distance vision. Partly because of the
    contrast.

Now, my vision is -1.25 with -0.5 in 70 degrees, and the lenses
does not correct for the -0.5 errror.

What happens if I add the glasses and the lenses together ?
    Do I get a combined power of -2.5 -0.7 @70 degrees ? Thus making
me farsigthed ? I amnot missing much in the near end that the
    eyes can't compensate.

  2. I guess if you are used to it you would not know.

I once had a pair of specs that were 0.25D too strong (in one eye) and it
    felt really nasty!

I'm always carefull to tell the optomerist to make sure he does not
    overcorrect due to that experience.

That red & green writing test is the one that's normally used, and it's best
to have the red writing clearest.
