I am going to have to figure out where to get an eye exam.

Or better yet, get over your vanity and stick to glasses. Rent an
apartment so you dont sleep in the car!

Next time you do that, I might do violenec onto you. Would you like that? I
will force my beliefs about the world onto you.

Violence is never a solution. Take a deep breath, attend some anger
management classes then get back and ask nicely :)

Ask people you know who have gone to an eye doctor whether they recommend
    him or her.

I think most eye docs prescribe N&Ds. I don't know where you get that "no
    one seems to prescribe...." stuff.

Another 30 day lens is Purevision.

Space Ace is a god damn ugly son of a butch who stays in his room
because his mummy won't let him out of the house.

He is not the one to talk about cosmesis.

Try to get a half decent OD. Problem is they can be hard to find.

I find PureVision better than N&D, but this is my opinion. Generally,
    both are better than Oasys.

Do a bit of ringing around and find an OD who actually specialises in
    CL's.

Hint: They are not at Pearl Optical or Lenscrafters.

The yellow pages is a good place to start.

A possible place to start. I wouldn't say a good place to start. I've done
    it myself though.

Better would be to get a recommendation, from someone you trust.

For certain values of "good". I've gone to several doctors who were highly
recommended -- by other people with other problems. Just because my friend
can be fit with the first set of contacts the doc tries doesn't mean that I'll
    get lucky on the 8th (I didn't).

You are absolutely right. A recommendation from someone doesn't mean that
doctor will be good for you. It doesn't even only have to do with different
eyes, but different ideas and standards about what makes a "good doctor"
(not just speaking of eye docs), etc.

However, a recommendation still gives you more idea than the yellow pages,
    no?
