I just this week gave contacts a try. Acuvue 2 for my distance
vision and am trying +2 reading glasses for close up. It does not
seem to be working out especially in reading a computer screen. So
maybe monovision would work? I am a little reluctant to try because I
play golf and read depth percetption would be an issue. I am even
more reluctant to spend the big bucks on contacts, though.

I have read here the dominant eye should be used for distance in
monovision with contacts but I wonder if that would be a good
apoproach for me. My dominant eye is +4 and the other is +5 (with
    some astigmatism), adder +2.

    thanks in advance
