I posted previously how my wife flunked the vision test, got glasses\n(+1.00), and then retook the DMV vision test with 20/20 vision, only to be\ntold that she needed to take a driving test.\n\nWell, yesterday was the driving test, and she flunked it! She asked the\nexaminer why she had to take the test, and the examiner said that it was\nto verify that she could drive with the glasses. So my wife neglected to\nget the DMV driver's handbook. The examiner asked her to demonstrate all\nthe controls. My wife had no clue how to turn on the emergency flashers.\nIt is a little tricky. The button looks like a dashboard decoration,\nrather than a functional button. Still, we've had the car for 3 years,\nand it has been her principal vehicle for half of that time. This\nflustered my wife, and she lost her confidence. They went out driving,\nand the examiner asked her to turn left. So she started to turn left,\ncompletely ignoring the fact that there was oncoming traffic with the\nright of way. The examiner screamed at her to stop, and she did. That\nflunked her. My wife said that all the people at the DMV were very nice,\nincluding the examiner, and she was advised not to be so nervous next\ntime.\n\nSo, they extended her old license for another two months (with the\nrequirement that she wear glasses while driving) and she has an\nappointment to retake the driving test in 3 weeks.
