My wife flunked the DMV test - part two

I posted previously how my wife flunked the vision test, got glasses
(+1.00), and then retook the DMV vision test with 20/20 vision, only to be
told that she needed to take a driving test.

Well, yesterday was the driving test, and she flunked it! She asked the
examiner why she had to take the test, and the examiner said that it was
to verify that she could drive with the glasses. So my wife neglected to
get the DMV driver's handbook. The examiner asked her to demonstrate all
the controls. My wife had no clue how to turn on the emergency flashers.
It is a little tricky. The button looks like a dashboard decoration,
rather than a functional button. Still, we've had the car for 3 years,
and it has been her principal vehicle for half of that time. This
flustered my wife, and she lost her confidence. They went out driving,
and the examiner asked her to turn left. So she started to turn left,
completely ignoring the fact that there was oncoming traffic with the
right of way. The examiner screamed at her to stop, and she did. That
flunked her. My wife said that all the people at the DMV were very nice,
including the examiner, and she was advised not to be so nervous next
    time.

So, they extended her old license for another two months (with the
requirement that she wear glasses while driving) and she has an
appointment to retake the driving test in 3 weeks.

Just before my mom had to take her driving test I asked her where some
of the less-used controls were. She didn't know where the flasher was
either, but we found it before the test. After it was all over she
agreed that it was silly to have worried so much about it because it
wasn't difficult. That was last November. Now she's starting to worry
again about the next test. Aarrgghh.

Pity that a stiff drink before the test is NOT a good idea :-(

  3. I do not know what proof you are asking for to demonstrate that any
glasses you put before the eyes of people destroy their mental control
    and state of relaxation.
