I've been back to my optometrist twice now and he hasn't given me contacts I can see well in. He swears my vision is 20/20, but everything is blurry or doubled half the time. He's now got one eye corrected for reading closer, while the other is corrected to read far away. The result is everything is blurry and focusing, and blinking takes work. I'm 42, I've got Astigmatism, nearsightedness, and floaters obstructing my vision to top things off. I'm really not wanting to spend money on buying these contacts. I'm also concerned his progressive lens prescription will be just as bad. I actually see better going back to my old prescriptions.

What are my next steps? Should I find a new optometrist? Ask for a refund? I'm already out $200.

Bump? I guess no one uses these forums. I'm back with the same problem. The optometrist is hell bent on giving me 20/20 vision. His tests show I can see 20/20. On paper I'm 20/20 with these new contacts. In reality these contacts are worthless. Not good for driving or working on the computer. The new prescription is actually weaker, so either my eyes improved or the eye exams are not very good.
