I know you're going to think I must have been smoking something prior to typing this, but I need to help my friend, who I saw yesterday for the first time since before she had cataract surgery on one eye 3 months ago. The first thing I noticed was how one eye appeared to be bulging from her socket while the other seemed very recessed, with the eyelid somewhat closed. The eye operated on was the one that seemed recessed. She has also experienced loss of nighttime peripheral vision with that eye.

The doctor who operated thought the loss of peripheral vision would have resolved by now. No such luck. He acted like there was nothing wrong with the appearance of the eye in the socket and the droopy eyelid. Very bizarre, based upon how obvious this was!!

I know what I see and it is the furthest thing from normal. My friend is NOT an alarmist, but obviously is not pleased with these surgical outcomes. I don't know which surgical procedure or lens was used, except that it was NOT for astigmatism.

Please help us understand how these two outcomes could have occurred and what can be done to correct.

Thank you on behalf of my dear friend.
