Progressive for strong plus?

Discussion in 'Optometry Archives' started by William Stacy, Sep 12, 2005.

  1. I normally don't recommend progressives for high plus, but I've got a
patient who is pretty much demanding it. His distance Rx is around
+8.00 O.U. And naturally, he wants a short corridor for his narrow
frames (18 mm seg ht max) Any suggestions?

  2. If he can take control and use the "minus" lenses for his own, he can
clear his vision to 20/40 or below, don't you think? :p

  3. Don't get me started. Actually, I want the guy (a 41 yo physical
therapist) to get IOLs ASAP, but since he's also a successful CL wearer,
he wants to wait on more info about multifocal IOLs.

Speaking of which, has anyone on this group actually seen a patient
who's had the ReStor implants? All the "studies" I've seen so far are
pretty lop sided and well spun...
