Progressive lens - having problems

Hi,
I've worn progressive glasses for 7 yrs now. Recently, I got my new pair of premium progressive lens. But, am having too much trouble with them.

When I initially got them, distance and reading distance were sharp, but the intermediate or computer level distance was quite blurry. The height was remeasured and it was adjusted from 25mm to 23mm. So, optical had sent it back for correction to the intermediate distance.

I got the glasses back after a two week wait, but the situation got worst. The distance is okay. But the intermediate is still blurry, and worst the reading portion became bad, from sharp prior to being sent back to somewhat blurred now.

Would appreciate if any experts here on this group can shed light on why intermediate distance is still blurred, and reading distance turned from sharp to somewhat blur unless I lift up a little the eyeglasses.

I am beginning to think that the lenses used may just be basic/standard as the intermediate distance is lost, which is typical for standard/basic progressive lens. I don't know what type of progressive lenses these current ones are, but my last pair was Varilux. Does brand of progressives lenses matter and carry a lot of weight to get a good sharp pair?
