Rimless glasses for high power ?

I went to a local eye-glass store and they told me that my eye power
(-2.5 sph, -3.75 cyl) is too high and rimless glasses cannot be made
for them. Just wondering if this is indeed the case ? Does anyone have
    an idea ?

    regards,
    Ron

I wear a -3 -3 x180 in a Silhouette. Just be aware not all rimless
    mounting systems are equal.

Thanks, Robert for the explanation. So does it mean that the lens used
for a normal frame (with rim) different from the one used for rimless
    frames ?

    regards,
