smaller lenses cut into a larger frame

Anyone familiar with the results of having a small frame glasses made
into a larger frame glass by cutting the smaller glass into a larger
lenses are the results any goodf would someone be able to see that
this was waht happened eg a clear line through the lense where the
join took place?

 

You cannot cut small lenses to make them larger, you can only cut large
lenses to make them smaller. If you want a larger frame, new lenses will be
needed.

I am not aware of a process that does this, suggest you ask the person doing
it if the joint will show. You might ask to see a sample before ordering to
make sure the appearance is acceptable to you..

Frankly, since fusing a small lens into a large one would be a labour
intensive single job instead of the semi automated method used for making a
new lens, I also suspect it will be more expensive for you to have this done
(if possible) than to get new lenses made.
