Stress cracking common in rimless glasses?

Discussion in 'Glasses' started by AgentOrangeCleaner, Dec 6, 2004.

  1. I've had my first pair of rimless glasses for about a month and a half and I
recently noticed a small crack on the left screw. It's going up toward the
top of the lens and it's been slowly getting longer.

Is this common with rimless glasses? Should I take them back?

    Thanks.

Yes it is reasonably common. It is very common if you clean your lenses with
    acetone.
If you've only had them for a month, and if it's obvious that you've looked
after the specs (i.e. no other damage, scratches, bending, etc) then they
    should be under guarantee.
