Had PRK about ten years ago - went very well and I have been very stable since then. I chose mono-vision with left eye close and right eye long. About a year later, I went to my previous optometrist and asked for correction lens to improve my ability for manual things at arms length. We did full refractive test and he wrote me a script for: OD +1.75, and OS +0.50, -0.50, and 005 (no add).

Over the last year or so I have noticed some degradation in my ability to read up close - pretty expected, I guess, at 60 yrs. We relocated about 6 months ago so I went to a new optometrist, noting the need for improved close in reading. Same exam and was written script for OD +1.00 (with the letters "splt" to the right), and OS -1.00, +0.75, and 055 with add of 2.50.

Would appreciate comments regarding the differences between the two scripts, given the timeline.

    Thanks!!
